A Special Tract for Those in Need

River Crest Hospital offers specialized treatment for the patient who requires structured dual mental health and drug and alcohol treatment. Our program offers a safe environment in which mentally ill substance abusers can control their emotional and psychiatric symptoms while developing a meaningful recovery. We provide a highly structured program coupled with our specially trained clinical staff comprised of psychiatrists, social workers, counselors, and case managers.

Utilizing therapy, medicines, 12 step and other support groups encourages the patient to develop and maintain skills that will allow them to function on their own once they leave the hospital.

Adolescent Dual Diagnosis Program

The Adolescent Dual Diagnosis Program is designed to treat teens (ages 12 to 17) who have been diagnosed with a mental illness as well as a substance abuse disorder.

River Crest Hospital 's Adolescent Dual Diagnosis Program provides treatment for mental and emotional health needs as well as substance abuse issues. We provide a nurturing atmosphere and develop individualized treatment plans for each patient. Treatment is led by a board certified psychiatrist, and the treatment team includes licensed professional counselors, activity therapists, teachers, and registered nurses.

Each patient participates in process and education groups and activities therapy on a daily basis. We help the teen develop a positive self-image, appropriate social skills and healthy communication. Emphasis is placed on the identification of harmful behaviors and gaining insight into the emotions behind the actions. Through this discovery process, the patients learn to accept responsibility for their individual behavior, develop healthy modes of interaction with others and live a substance-free life.

Possible Symptoms of Adolescent Chemical Dependency:
Change in school attendance or performance
Changes in personal grooming
Bloodshot eyes
Withdrawal from family and friends
Missing money and valuables from your household
Changes in eating and sleeping patterns
Lying about whereabouts
Mood swings and changes in attitude and behavior
